Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Demuss (ranked 22416 p4p, 6317 weight class) and Soons Sam (ranked 598 p4p, 583 weight class). Demuss's entrance music is Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jake Demuss! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Soons Sam! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Columbo Gatti and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Demuss lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Demuss looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Sam tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Demuss manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Demuss is looking to counter punch. Demuss throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Sam tries for a takedown but Demuss circles away easily and Demuss counters with a nice uppercut. Demuss scores with a crisp jab that stopped Sam in his tracks. Demuss lands with a cross. Sam tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Demuss paws at him with a jab and circles away. Sam is looking to clinch but Demuss is avoiding it.

A shot to the liver by Demuss. Beautiful body shot. Demuss lands a glancing blow to the side of Sam's head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Demuss cracks Sam with a right hand to the side of the head. Demuss moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Horrible takedown attempt by Sam or perhaps it was just good defense by Demuss, which made it look bad. Demuss throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Sam throws a hook but Demuss avoids it easily. No joy there for Demuss, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sam tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Demuss is able to avoid easily. Demuss uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Sam has time to react. Jake Demuss seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sam wants to clinch but Demuss slips to the side and Demuss counters with a lovely straight right hand! Demuss lets loose with a powerful body kick. Sam will feel that in the morning. Sam shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Demuss as he avoids it easily. Jake Demuss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Soons Sam. Demuss connects with the punch. Demuss fakes the leg kick and cracks Sam in the body. Demuss throws a combination. Sam tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Demuss creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Sam's defenses.
It looks like Soons Sam has been cut. Sam goes for a takedown in the clinch but Demuss prevents it.
Demuss lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Demuss is pushing Sam up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Demuss blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Demuss working Sam over with knees to the body. Sam looks winded! Sam fails to pull guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Still in the clinch, Demuss scores with a nice short uppercut. Demuss turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Demuss is staying tight to Sam's torso, preventing him from escaping. Demuss is chipping away with strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Demuss is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Demuss cracks Sam with an elbow. That is naaassty. Demuss is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Sam's shoulder. That is not cool. Demuss is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sam has escaped the position, nice work there. Sam manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Demuss is trying is best to control the position here. Demuss actively working from the bottom here. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Demuss preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Demuss has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Demuss won't allow Sam to pass to mount. Demuss misses with some strikes from the bottom.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Demuss dominated that round. The cut man is working on Soons Sam's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Sam gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Demuss slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Sam is trying to control the position but Demuss postures up. Sam is looking to stand up but Demuss isn't so interested in that idea. Demuss is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sam trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Demuss lands a couple of decent looking shots. Sam is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Demuss slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Demuss is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sam can do to turn this around? Demuss with a jab. Sam throws a head kick that misses and Demuss counters with a nice kick to the body. Sam throws a lazy head kick and Demuss counters with a body kick. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Sam is rocked! It's a brutal combination of punches from Demuss! Sam is backing up but he can't get away as Demuss lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Sam and ends the fight. Great knockout.
