PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Malesh Krivak (ranked 4320 p4p, 4323 weight class) and Emmanuel Dongala (ranked 0 p4p, 379 weight class). Emmanuel Dongala told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Malesh Krivak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Emmanuel Dongala!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dongala fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

and Krivak holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Dongala drops down looking for an ankle pick but Krivak pulls his leg out and moves away.
Malesh Krivak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Emmanuel Dongala.

Krivak lands a left and a right that send Dongala crashing to the mat, dazed. Krivak thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Krivak rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dongala moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Emmanuel Dongala seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Horrible takedown attempt by Dongala or perhaps it was just good defense by Krivak, which made it look bad.
Dongala shoots in looking for a takedown. Krivak tries to sprawl out of it but Dongala keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Krivak manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

A quick step to the side and Krivak tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Krivak closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
