Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ben Jamin (ranked 3219 p4p, 4273 weight class) and Curry Namnam (ranked 0 p4p, 504 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ben Jamin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Curry Namnam! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Namnam lands a jab to the head.
Namnam ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Left hook, right uppercut from Namnam. Jamin takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Namnam moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Jamin walks into a straight right hand from Namnam. Namnam listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Namnam with a body punch. A glancing blow. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Namnam lands a right hook to the body.

Namnam is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Jamin had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush. Nice uppercut lands for Namnam. Curry Namnam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Namnam scores with a punch to the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Namnam tests Jamin's chin there with a solid looking shot. Namnam scores with a hook. Namnam has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Namnam throws a series of punches but Jamin moves out of range. Jamin takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Namnam cracks Jamin with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Namnam closes the distance and lands a one-two. Namnam swings for the body but Jamin moves out of range.

Namnam darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Namnam cracks a nice hook into Jamin's ribs.

Jamin attempts a counter takedown but Namnam avoids it well and moves away. Namnam paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Jamin might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. A left lands for Namnam. Curry Namnam seems to be getting the better of the standup. Jamin takes a body punch but keeps moving. Namnam misses with a wild body shot. Namnam misses with a combination

Jamin stands up over Namnam, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jamin's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Jamin sitting in guard here, content to control. Namnam has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Jamin scoring with some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jamin with a nice head shot there. Namnam is breathing heavily. Jamin is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Jamin passes into half guard. Jamin landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Jamin lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Jamin controlling the action here. Namnam really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jamin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ground and pound from Jamin. Jamin is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Jamin landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Namnam is working to avoid the ground and pound but Jamin connects with a decent elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
