Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Perry Peterson (ranked 4143 p4p, 3080 weight class) and David Douillet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David Douillet has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Perry Peterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, David Douillet! The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Ben Watson and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peterson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Douillet did well to prevent Peterson getting side control. Douillet looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Douillet gets back to full guard.
Peterson wants to control from the top but Douillet keeps moving. Douillet is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Peterson is really struggling to control Douillet but he's trying to hold on to the position. Peterson wants to pass the guard but Douillet is keeping the position. Douillet is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. He's managed it. Nice work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Peterson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Douillet passes to full mount! Douillet can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Peterson is looking to escape. Peterson working to try and regain half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Douillet is looking to stand but Peterson has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
David Douillet has got the better of the ground game so far. Douillet has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Peterson's face.
The referee warns Peterson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

David Douillet showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round! Peterson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Douillet goes for a double leg but Peterson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Peterson continues to drive forward. Peterson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Peterson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Douillet keeping moving, preventing Peterson from controlling successfully. Douillet looking to sweep here. No luck so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Douillet pulls Peterson in close to prevent any damage. Peterson wants to control from the top but Douillet keeps moving. Douillet has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Douillet tries to free his leg and advance position but Peterson is retaining full guard. Peterson controls Douillet momentarily but Douillet frees himself. Douillet pushes down on Peterson's leg and manages to get into half guard. Douillet passes the guard and advances to mount! Douillet wants to stand but Peterson is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peterson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Peterson is working hard here to advance position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Douillet controlling his opponent. Peterson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Douillet trying to control but Peterson is having none of it. Douillet in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Douillet takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Douillet landing shots from mount.
