Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Lopez (ranked 979 p4p, 2209 weight class) and Ginny Cotroni (ranked 14 p4p, 52 weight class). Lopez kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bob Dylan - Hurricane. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cotroni throws a right and a left that Lopez avoids nicely.
Cotroni misses with a left hand
and Lopez counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Lopez drives through and clinches with Cotroni against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from Cotroni fails to land.
I was talking to Lopez's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Cotroni throws a punch but it's blocked by Lopez.
Lopez scores with a nice hook to the head.
Lopez blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Lopez blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Cotroni breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A big right from Lopez misses.
Lopez digs a good hook to Cotroni's body.
Lopez punishes Cotroni's body with a nice straight punch.
Lopez rushes Cotroni and presses him up against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lopez digs a right hand underneath Cotroni's ribcage. Cotroni let out a lung full of air as it connected.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cotroni's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Lopez makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Lopez drops Cotroni onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Cotroni is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Cotroni is rocked!
Lopez presses Cotroni against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Cotroni is still on wobbly legs! Can Lopez finish him?
A left hand lands to the body for Lopez.
Lopez pushes Cotroni against the cage. Lopez is working some dirty boxing. Lopez pushes off with a quick right hook! Cotroni goes down! Cotroni tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Lopez moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carlos Lopez!
A relieved looking Carlos Lopez thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
