Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jamil Hurst (ranked 1549 p4p, 1384 weight class) and Omer Demirci (ranked 236 p4p, 208 weight class). Hurst comes to the cage accompanied by Keep Their Heads Ringin'. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jamil Hurst!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Omer Demirci!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Columbo Gatti and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Demirci is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hurst's half guard.
Hurst tries to roll over but Demirci keeps him under control.
Hurst's coaches at Gunner's School of Combat have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Demirci is keen to just control but Hurst is a slippery customer.

Hurst will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Demirci has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Hurst darts in looking for a takedown but Demirci gets double underhooks and turns Hurst into the cage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hurst connects with a jab.
Demirci connects with a crisp jab.
Hurst misses with a takedown attempt - Demirci sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Demirci punishes Hurst's body with a nice straight punch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hurst. Demirci does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hurst moves out of range of the strikes.
Hurst tries for a takedown but Demirci sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jamil Hurst. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Demirci ducks under a wild hook from Hurst.
Demirci is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Demirci takes a swing at Hurst's ribcage but misses.
Hurst shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Demirci but Demirci pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Demirci has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Omer Demirci showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Demirci throws a body punch but Hurst moves out of range.
Hurst moves out of range as Demirci strikes.
Demirci lands a slapping body shot.
Hurst fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Demirci on the side of the head.
Demirci slaps away a takedown attempt from Hurst, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Hurst just misses with a punch to the body.
Good exchange - Demirci coming out on top.

Demirci gets a takedown into half guard.
Demirci trying to advance position but Hurst counters by regaining guard.
Hurst working a defensive guard but Demirci passes into half guard.

Demirci is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hurst defends it well.

Hurst wants to improve his position but Demirci is controlling well.
Demirci wants to control but Hurst is keeping him busy.

Hurst actively working from the bottom here.

Demirci is just content to waste time from the top position. Hurst takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hurst is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Demirci stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hurst swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Demirci has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Hurst escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Hurst!

Demirci escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hurst gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hurst trying to control the position from guard on top but Demirci is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hurst avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hurst stands and throws Demirci's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Demirci is looking for a sweep.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Omer Demirci.
Well Demirci has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
