Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jamal Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luca Teixeira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Teixeira comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Enter Sandman - Metallica kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Jamal Smith has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Daniel Cesar and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith misses with a wild combination.
Smith throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Teixeira sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Teixeira throws a jab when Smith was well out of range.
Smith will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Teixeira tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Smith swivels and escapes.
Teixeira shoots in for a takedown but Smith shows good takedown defense.
Smith throws a right hand that Teixeira ducks under and follows up with a left that Teixeira also avoids with ease.
Teixeira tries to clinch up but Smith circles away and keeps his distance.
Teixeira misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nice defenses there by Teixeira.
Smith throws a combination that misses
so Teixeira counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Teixeira drops back, looking for a kneebar! Smith looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Smith looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Smith!
Teixeira struggling a bit here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Teixeira pushes Smith away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Smith gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Teixeira sneaks back into half guard.
Smith stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Teixeira to get to his feet.
Smith waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Teixeira.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Smith circles away from the clinch attempt.
Teixeira misses with a few strikes there.
Smith throws a jab but it's blocked by Teixeira.
Smith takes a swing at Teixeira's ribcage but misses.
Teixeira will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Teixeira avoids the body shot from Smith.
Teixeira keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Smith.
Teixeira tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Nice sprawl there from Smith as Teixeira shoots in.
Jamal Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luca Teixeira.
Smith scores with the left hand. Teixeira knows he should have avoided that one.
It looks like Luca Teixeira has been cut.
Smith swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Teixeira counters with a one-two to the body.

Smith misses the shot to the body.
Smith misses with a looping left.

No joy there for Smith, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Teixeira fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Smith is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Teixeira.
Smith throws a jab but it's blocked by Teixeira.
Smith fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Smith throws a jab when Teixeira was well out of range.
A big left from Smith misses.

Smith takes a swing at Teixeira's ribcage but misses.
Smith throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Teixeira wants to clinch.
Teixeira throws a nice looking combination but Smith bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Teixeira tries to clinch there but Smith circles away.
Teixeira blocks a jab.
A jab from Smith misses.
Smith misses with a combination
and Teixeira moves into the clinch.
Teixeira misses with a hook to the ribs.
Smith is trying to break the clinch but Teixeira has him pressed against the cage.
Smith wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Teixeira escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Teixeira takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Teixeira wants to clinch.
Teixeira closes the distance and clinches up with Smith, looking for a takedown. Teixeira pushes Smith against the cage but Smith circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jamal Smith dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Luca Teixeira's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Smith connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Smith cracks Teixeira with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Teixeira looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Smith finish him?
Smith cracks Teixeira on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Teixeira falls backwards against the cage. Smith follows up with more strikes that drop Teixeira to his knees. Smith keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Teixeira! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jamal Smith!
