Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Greene (ranked 1446 p4p, 1878 weight class) and Laertes Royster (ranked 85 p4p, 114 weight class). Greene comes to the cage accompanied by Stepdad- Eminem. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Greene uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Royster.

Royster does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Greene half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Greene connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Royster's hands.
Royster moves into range and connects with a jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
No joy there for Greene, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Greene doesn't manage to clinch there - Royster circles away.
Royster scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Greene swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Royster has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Greene closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Royster is staying active underneath Greene, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Royster feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Greenes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Laertes Royster seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Greene displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Royster throws out the jab.
Royster lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Royster tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Greene's elbow.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Greene postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Royster is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Greene, into his guard.

Greene is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Greene working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Royster doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Royster manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well Royster has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
