PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Rawse (ranked 2417 p4p, 3342 weight class) and Bang Lim Jung (ranked 90 p4p, 81 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ricky Rawse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bang Lim Jung!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Eddie Farnsworth and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Jung does no damage.
Rawse throws a poor cross that misses
and Jung counters with a straight right hand.
Jung misses with a hook.
Rawse tries for a takedown but Jung circles away easily
and Jung cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rawse fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jung misses with a looping left.
Rawse walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Jung misses with a head kick.
A counter left hand to the body from Rawse misses its target.
Jung looks to throw the jab but Rawse is out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Jung. No joy for Rawse on that attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jung keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jung, as that shot connected.
Jung looks to land a right hand but Rawse moved out of range.
Bang Lim Jung is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Jung gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Jung throws out a powerful jab.

Rawse closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jung quickly recovers to half guard.
Rawse works his way into side control.
Rawse is looking to take a break and control but Jung is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jung is trying to improve his position.
Jung takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Jung manages to get back to half guard.

Jung is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Jung is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rawse pulls his head out easily.
Rawse takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Jung wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jung is trying to control but Rawse manages to pass to mount!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rawse trying to control but Jung is having none of it.
Rawse controlling the pace for now.

Rawse is really struggling to control Jung but he's trying to hold on to the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Jung really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Rawse sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Rawse's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Ricky Rawse overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jung looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Rawse throws an overhand right that lands on Jung's shoulder, as Jung tries to avoid the shot.

Rawse uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jung.
Rawse misses with a few strikes there.
Rawse shoots for a double leg takedown but Jung sprawls well. He's pushed Rawse's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jung throws a lazy right hand but Rawse sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Jung might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Rawse fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jung avoids it really well and circles away.

Jung looks to land a right hand but Rawse moved out of range.

Jung wants to land a leg kick but Rawse is out of range.
Jung throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rawse sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Rawse drops down looking for a counter takedown but Jung sprawls and moves away.
Rawse paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jung throws a shot from downtown. Rawse moves away and avoids it.

letting Rawse counter with a right hand.
Rawse fails with a takedown attempt.
A little jabbing left from Jung on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Rawse tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jung sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rawse somewhat.
Jung takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Rawse misses with a body shot.
Rawse moves out of range as Jung strikes.
A big right from Jung misses.
Rawse closes the distance and clinches up with Jung, looking for a takedown. Rawse pushes Jung against the cage but Jung circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Rawse misses with an uppercut.
A swing and a miss from Jung.
Good exchange - Jung coming out on top.

Jung is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rawse.
Jung throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Rawse on the side of the head.
Jung misses with a straight left.

Rawse fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jung sprawls well initially but Rawse persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Jung tries to get to full guard but Rawse has control of the leg.
Rawse is trying to control. Jung wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Rawse looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Rawse has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Rawse takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Jung is looking to improve his position but Rawse isn't that keen on the idea.

Rawse can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jung is looking to escape.

Jung is squirming around, avoiding Rawse's attempts to control the action.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Jung tries to reverse the position but Rawse maintains control.
Jung regains half guard.
Jung wants to get back to full guard.
Rawse is trying to control. Jung wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Jung wants to improve his position but Rawse is controlling well.
Rawse tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jung knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Rawse seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jung does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ricky Rawse.
I think Rawse has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
