The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Persson moves into range and clinches up with Karlsson.
Persson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Karlsson has a takedown stuffed.
Karlsson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Persson circles away.
Karlsson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Fredrik Persson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tommie Karlsson.
Karlsson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Persson!
Persson is working to get back to half guard.
Karlsson blocks Persson's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Persson stops Karlsson from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Persson tries to reverse the position but Karlsson maintains control.
Karlsson has control of Persson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Persson regains control of the situation pretty easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Persson gets back to half guard.
Persson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Karlsson wants to control from the top but Persson keeps moving.
Persson pushes a forearm under Karlsson's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Karlsson is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
