PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sammy Jam (ranked 3461 p4p, 4030 weight class) and Reinaldo Gracie (ranked 318 p4p, 347 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Gracie's choice of entrance music: Apaga Mas Não Bate. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jam lands the left hand.
Jam throws a shot from downtown. Gracie moves away and avoids it.
Gracie with the counter takedown but Jam avoids it easily.
Jam throws an off balance right hand

so Gracie counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Jam is trying to control the position but Gracie postures up.

Gracie avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Gracie engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Jam is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gracie is aware though and is defending well.
Jam keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gracie got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jam has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gracie has managed to get both his arms back between Jam's legs - danger averted.
Gracie advances position into side control!

Gracie is working to tighten his grip on Jam's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Jam has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Gracie is really squeezing tight and eventually Jam passes out! Gracie breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
