PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kree P Krawlee (ranked 1635 p4p, 1304 weight class) and Morgan Wade (ranked 224 p4p, 182 weight class). Krawlee comes into the arena with Sail blaring out of the sound system. Wade has chosen The Bleeding as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Kree P Krawlee has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Kree P Krawlee seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kree P Krawlee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 41 - 31 - 3, fighting out of New York, Morgan Wade!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Krawlee ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wade moves away.
Wade uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Krawlee.
Krawlee takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Wade clinches with his opponent.
Krawlee blocks an uppercut.
Wade is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Krawlee blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Wade misses with a hook from the clinch.
Krawlee wants to take the fight to the mat but Wade manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Wade lands a right hand.
A nice left hand lands by Wade.
Krawlee changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Wade fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kree P Krawlee. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Krawlee has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Wade finds it's way round the side to connect with Krawlee's head.

It looks like Kree P Krawlee has been cut.
Wade takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Krawlee tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Krawlee has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Krawlee goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Wade rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Krawlee's guard! Nice work there by Wade!
Wade slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Krawlee is looking to sweep but instead, Wade has passed into half guard.
Krawlee wants to improve his position but Wade is controlling well.
Krawlee is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Wade's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Wade's back!

Krawlee is persistently looking for the submission but Wade is defending it well.
Wade felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Krawlee has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Wade has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Krawlee is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Wade knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Wade for a finish.

Wade is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Krawlee off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Wade is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A big right from Wade misses.
Wade throws a looping overhand right but Krawlee ducks down to avoid it.
Krawlee throws a shot from downtown. Wade moves away and avoids it.
Wade scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Wade takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Wade looks to land a left hand but Krawlee moved out of range nicely.

Wade has managed to clinch.
Krawlee blocks an uppercut.
Krawlee blocking some punches.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Wade.
A nice right hand lands inside from Wade.
Wade has a couple of punches blocked by Krawlee.
Krawlee has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Wade is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Krawlee is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Wade has a couple of punches blocked by Krawlee.
I was talking to Krawlee's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Krawlee breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Wade tries to clinch up but Krawlee circles away and keeps his distance.

Krawlee is working to tighten his grip on Wade's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Wade has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Krawlee is really squeezing tight and eventually Wade passes out! Krawlee breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
