PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joel Miller (ranked 4320 p4p, 3511 weight class) and Dumitru Mazilu (ranked 0 p4p, 429 weight class). Mazilu is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Noi suntem poporul, jos cu dictatoru. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Joel Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dumitru Mazilu!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mazilu shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Miller's guard.
Mazilu lands a couple of elbows.
Mazilu distracts Miller with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Mazilu controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Mazilu works over Miller with some ground and pound from guard.
Mazilu stays in close to Miller's body and controls the position.
Miller wants to control but Mazilu passes easily into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mazilu lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Nice strikes from Mazilu there.
Miller has hold of Mazilu's hands but Mazilu slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mazilu is nestled in close to Miller, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mazilu is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Mazilu takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Mazilu looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Miller with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Miller is rocked!
Mazilu uses his free foot to push down on Miller's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Miller.
Mazilu postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Miller out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Mazilu goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
