Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roy Gracey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeremiah Kidd! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, David Schapiro and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kidd tries a head kick but it misses.
Gracey has a takedown stuffed. Kidd throws a head kick but Gracey moves out of range.
Kidd tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gracey paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kidd shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Kidd connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Gracey fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gracey walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Jeremiah Kidd is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fight moves into the clinch position. Kidd works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Kidd lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Gracey is breathing heavily. Kidd pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kidd throws a leg kick but Gracey sees it coming and moves out of range. Gracey throws a low kick, looking for Kidd's leg but Kidd calmly moves out of range. Gracey avoids the head kick by Kidd.

Kidd swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Gracey throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kidd's waist but Kidd gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gracey off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roy Gracey. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gracey changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kidd tries to avoid it but Gracey manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kidd to the ground. Kidd escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Kidd throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Gracey takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Jeremiah Kidd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gracey slips a jab and a cross from Kidd.

That's going to take a lot out of him. Kidd throws a right and a left that both miss. Gracey fails miserably with a takedown attempt. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gracey. Gracey is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Kidd. Roy Gracey is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Kidd throws a head kick but Gracey moves out of range.

Gracey shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Gracey looks for a takedown but Kidd sprawls well. Gracey fails to land the takedown. Gracey really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Gracey tries to clinch but fails miserably and Kidd counters with a two punch combo. Gracey has his takedown stuffed and Kidd counters with a flying knee. Nice.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kidd throws a sloppy head kick and Gracey counters with a body kick. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gracey. A left lands for Kidd. Gracey with a lazy takedown attempt and Kidd counters with a lovely shot to the body. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kidd throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A cross from Kidd lands. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jeremiah Kidd showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Kidd lands a hook that snaps the head of Gracey backwards. Kidd pushes Gracey back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Kidd slowing the pace effectively. Kidd wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Gracey has him pressed against the cage. Kidd's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Gracey tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Gracey closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kidd to the mat! Kidd manages to get full guard. Gracey preventing the sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kidd looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Gracey puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Gracey trying to control from half guard but Kidd is working away. Gracey prevents Kidd from improving his position. Gracey is keen to just control but Kidd is a slippery customer. Kidd misses with some strikes from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kidd trying to get back to full guard but Gracey takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Kidd really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Gracey avoids the attempt from Kidd to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kidd is trying desperately to improve position. Gracey blocks Kidd's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Kidd is trying desperately to improve position. Kidd is squirming around, avoiding Gracey's attempts to control the action. Roy Gracey has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kidd keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Jeremiah Kidd is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kidd is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Roy Gracey. I think Kidd has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
