Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thufir Hawat (ranked 23428 p4p, 4191 weight class) and Mason McNamara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thufir Hawat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mason McNamara!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That kick from Hawat tenderised McNamara's leg. McNamara is trying to keep his angry face on.
McNamara shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hawat sprawls well. Hawat wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McNamara gets slowly back to his feet.
Hawat misses with a low kick.
Hawat connects with a solid leg kick.
Hawat scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Hawat throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McNamara instigates a clinch.
McNamara drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hawat pulls his leg out and moves away.
Hawat throws a hook but McNamara avoids it easily.
Hawat turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McNamara fails with the takedown
letting Hawat counter with a right hand.
Thufir Hawat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mason McNamara.
Hawat throws a sloppy head kick and McNamara moves out of range easily.
McNamara throws a wild body kick that Hawat sees coming a mile off.
Hawat throws a push kick but McNamara slaps the foot to one side.
Hawat has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

McNamara fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hawat throws a quick inside leg kick.
Hawat thumps McNamara with a low kick.
McNamara is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
McNamara doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
McNamara misses with a takedown attempt
and Hawat counters with a one-two to the body.
McNamara finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
A little feinted left hand from Hawat on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Hawat looks to land a combination. McNamara sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Hawat lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
McNamara takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hawat scoring well with a low kick there.

Hawat cracks McNamara with a good jab.
McNamara tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hawat paws at him with a jab and circles away.
McNamara drives through and clinches with Hawat against the cage.
Hawat has McNamara pressed against the cage.
Nice elbow from Hawat.
Hawat escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McNamara feints and then cracks Hawat's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hawat down.
McNamara takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Hawat jabs at McNamara's body.
Hawat swats away the attempt to clinch by McNamara.
Hawat avoids the head kick by McNamara.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hawat connects with a leg kick.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Hawat.
Hawat circles away from the clinch attempt.
McNamara shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hawat pinned against the cage. Hawat gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hawat with a nice calf kick.
McNamara tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Hawat counters with a big head kick but McNamara shrugs it off.
Hawat lands a straight punch to the body, keeping McNamara at a distance.
Hawat bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps McNamara's head backwards.
No joy there for Hawat, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Thufir Hawat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hawat scores with a jab. McNamara acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
McNamara shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hawat but Hawat pushes him off and we're back to square one.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McNamara has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hawat.
McNamara tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Hawat lands a head kick!
McNamara shoots in for a takedown but Hawat shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
McNamara takes a head kick and keeps coming.
McNamara on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Hawat. Hawat obviously looking to wear him down.
Hawat scores with the left hand. McNamara knows he should have avoided that one.

McNamara rushes Hawat and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Thufir Hawat dominated that round.

and Hawat counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
McNamara throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hawat's waist but Hawat gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McNamara off to one side.
Hawat throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
McNamara tries to close the distance and clinch but Hawat swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
As McNamara backs away, Hawat returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
McNamara has his takedown stuffed
and Hawat counters with a straight right hand.

Hawat lands a nice looking body kick.
McNamara stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hawat.
McNamara fails with an attempt to clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McNamara chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hawat can pounce on him.
Hawat lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Hawat scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
McNamara takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
McNamara is still on wobbly legs! Can Hawat finish him?

McNamara shoots and misses
and Hawat counters with a solid body kick.
McNamara seems to have recovered his senses.
Hawat throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent McNamara stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Hawat throws a quick inside leg kick.
McNamara is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Hawat moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Thufir Hawat!
