Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Zett Jukassa (ranked 1308 p4p, 3346 weight class) and Morioka Shigemasa (ranked 198 p4p, 433 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Shigemasa's choice of entrance music: Seek and Destroy. Zett Jukassa has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Zett Jukassa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Morioka Shigemasa!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Donatello Bradman and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shigemasa looks to land a combination but Jukassa avoids it well.
Jukassa avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Morioka Shigemasa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shigemasa throws a series of punches but Jukassa moves out of range.
Shigemasa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jukassa manages to avoid it.
Shigemasa tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jukassa was well out of range. Poor timing from Shigemasa.

Shigemasa's coach down at Irish Collar & Elbow Academy (ICE) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Shigemasa's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jukassa leaves Shigemasa with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Jukassa definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Shigemasa shoots in and bounces Jukassa off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Shigemasa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jukassa swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Shigemasa shoots in and drives through. Jukassa sprawls well.

The fight stays on the outside here - Shigemasa looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Jukassa creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Shigemasa throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jukassa.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Jukassa scores with a counter punch that sends Shigemasa to the canvas! Jukassa smells blood - he's punishing Shigemasa with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Shigemasa has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Zett Jukassa!
In his post fight interview, Zett Jukassa started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
