Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Robin Daqt (ranked 3998 p4p, 4717 weight class) and Adam Rabago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robin Daqt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Rabago! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Chad Campbell and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Rabago as Daqt shoots in. Daqt throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robin Daqt. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rabago has had enough of the clinch but Daqt keeps him there for the moment. and Rabago counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Daqt wants to clinch enabling Rabago to counter with a crisp jab. Daqt tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Rabago manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Daqt has Rabago up against the cage in a clinch.
Daqt has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Rabago regains guard immediately. Daqt trying to control but Rabago is working from the bottom. Rabago wants to stand and escape but Daqt is having none of it.

Daqt is looking for a triangle but Rabago pushes his legs off easily.
Rabago has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Daqt is proving hard to escape from. Daqt has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Rabago is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Daqt. Daqt is looking for a sweep. Daqt is working hard here to advance position. Daqt struggling a bit here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Daqt manages to work his way to half guard, despite Rabago's best efforts. Rabago seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Rabago stands up and beckons Daqt to join him on the feet. No joy there for Daqt, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Daqt closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rabago circles away. As Daqt backs off Rabago throws a huge counter combo but Daqt manages to avoid it all. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Daqt!

A close round but Adam Rabago will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Daqt won't allow Rabago to get back to his feet. Daqt wants to control from the top but Rabago keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Daqt not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Rabago wants to stand and escape but Daqt is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Rabago moves away from the strike by Daqt. Danga de danga de dang - Daqt scores with a four punch combination! Daqt swings widly with a right hand
and Rabago cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Daqt shoots for a double leg takedown but Rabago sprawls well. He's pushed Daqt's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Daqt moves into the clinch. Rabago is trying to break the clinch but Daqt has him pressed against the cage. Rabago is trying to break the clinch but Daqt is controlling him. Rabago wants to break the clinch but can't.
Daqt turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Daqt manages to end up in side control. Rabago is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Daqt working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Daqt wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rabago, who protects the arm well. Rabago wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Daqt is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Rabago knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Daqt is trying to get an arm triangle but Rabago is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rabago wants to get back to his feet but Daqt drags him back down. Daqt tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Rabago is trying to buck Daqt off. Daqt trying to control the position but Rabago is working away. Rabago tries to escape but Daqt is in control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Rabago seems a little lost for a moment, as Daqt dominates the positioning. Daqt thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Rabago is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Daqt asserts his dominance and retains side control. Daqt is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rabago is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Daqt in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Daqt prevents Rabago from escaping the position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Robin Daqt dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round! Daqt tries to clinch but Rabago moves out of range. Rabago lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Daqt avoids the body shot from Rabago.

Rabago utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Robin Daqt overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rabago really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Daqt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Daqt is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Daqt is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rabago is just riding it out for now. Daqt eventually gives up the hold. Daqt seems to be working for a kimura but Rabago defends the submission attempt. Rabago manages to escape and get back to his feet! Daqt scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Rabago misses with a few strikes there.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Daqt misses with a takedown attempt - Rabago sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Rabago swats away the attempt to clinch by Daqt. Daqt wants to clinch up but Rabago keeps it at a distance. Daqt lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Rabago throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Daqt. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Daqt tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Rabago wants to get back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Robin Daqt. I think Daqt has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Robin Daqt! After the fight, Robin Daqt was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
