The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrov pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Carter tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nice uppercut lands for Carter. That snapped Petrov's head back.
Carter moves away from the strike by Petrov.
Petrov takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Petrov throws a low kick but Carter moves out of range easily.
Petrov missing with a left hand there. Carter was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Petrov fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Petrov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Carter misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Petrov.
Carter scores with a crisp jab that stopped Petrov in his tracks.
Carter moves into range and connects with a jab.
Petrov circles away from the clinch attempt.
Carter scores with a hook.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Petrov fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Carter lands a really nice looking cross but Petrov seems unphased.
Petrov is rocked!

Jason Carter decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
