The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Veinte drives through and clinches with Diecisocho against the cage.

Diecisocho lands a takedown into guard.

Veinte has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Diecisocho has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Veinte throws an elbow that misses.
Diecisocho prevents a body shot from Veinte.

Veinte breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Diecisocho throws a looping overhand right but Veinte ducks down to avoid it.
Diecisocho misses the shot to the body.
Veinte tries to clinch there but Diecisocho circles away.
Diecisocho avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Diecisocho seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Veinte shoots in looking for a takedown but Diecisocho manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Veinte's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Veinte throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Diecisocho counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Veinte drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Veinte breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Diecisocho drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Veinte wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Diecisocho is now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Veinte is trying to maintain the position but Diecisocho is very close to passing his half guard.
Veinte keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Diecisocho is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Veinte trying to control but Diecisocho postures up.

Diecisocho decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fight stays on the outside here - Veinte looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Diecisocho shoots in for a takedown but Veinte shows good takedown defense.
Veinte shoots in but no luck this time.
Testo Diecisocho has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Testo Veinte.
Veinte tries to score a power double leg takedown but Diecisocho sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Veinte somewhat.
Diecisocho tries to counter by clinching up but Veinte breaks away and moves out of range.

Veinte scores with a takedown into Diecisocho's guard.
Veinte postures up.

Veinte gets to his feet - Diecisocho follows without any prompting.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Testo Diecisocho.
