PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tunzo Fuhn (ranked 25232 p4p, 2396 weight class) and Morgan Malig (ranked 364 p4p, 149 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tunzo Fuhn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Morgan Malig!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Glass and William Gold.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malig takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Malig crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Fuhn - the referee stops the clock and Malig gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Fuhn. Malig manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Malig looks to score with a jab to the body but Fuhn is just out of range.
Fuhn ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Malig moves away.

and Malig counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Malig.
Malig is stalling in the full guard.
Let's hope that Malig has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Fuhn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Malig on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Malig avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Malig seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Malig looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Malig has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Fuhn defend it? Malig steps over the head and cranks it - Fuhn is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Malig!
