Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sam Daniels (ranked 4261 p4p, 5687 weight class) and Zoe Jab (ranked 478 p4p, 561 weight class). Sam Daniels has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sam Daniels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Zoe Jab!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daniels shoots for a takedown but Jab saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Jab drives through with a takedown into guard.

Daniels has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Jab is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Jab has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Daniels is trying to keep an underhook but Jab manages to get the takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Daniels shoots in for a takedown but Jab shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Jab is trying to pull guard but Daniels turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Daniels is trying to drag Jab to the mat but Jab just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Jab breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Jab displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Daniels.

so Jab counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Daniels is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jab is aware though and is defending well.
Daniels throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Jab moves into range and connects with a jab.

Jab manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Daniels on his heels. He'll look to pass Daniels's guard now, I'm sure.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Daniels has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Jab off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jab, as that shot connected.
Daniels shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Daniels takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Daniels closes the distance and clinches.

Jab breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Jab bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Jab in side control, just content to control the action for now.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Zoe Jab dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Daniels shoots in but no luck this time.
Despite the aggression on Jab's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Jab shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Daniels manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Jab moves into range and clinches up with Daniels.

Jab has clasped his hands together around Daniels's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jab landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Daniels is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Jab asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Sam Daniels overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Daniels is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Jab off and has taken his back!

Daniels is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Jab defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Jab is holding onto Daniels's left hand, preventing any choke attempts.
Daniels tries to get the hooks in deep but Jab pushed the leg off.
Daniels is really struggling to control Jab but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Daniels keeps control of the position as Jab tries to break free.
A lull in the action here.
Jab is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Daniels off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Jab manages to escape to a better position under a series of strikes. Daniels is now in side control.
Daniels advances nicely into full mount.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jab wants to hold on but Daniels pushes him away.
Jab is squirming around, avoiding Daniels's attempts to control the action.
Jab is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Jab is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Daniels thows a huge punch but Jab dodges it nicely.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jab is trying to trip Daniels. He has hold of a leg but Daniels is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Jab persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Daniels is looking to cinch up a triangle. Jab throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Daniels's body to avoid the submission. Daniels has instead reached around Jab's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Daniels arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
