Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Wheeler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kain Smash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wheeler comes to the cage accompanied by New World Awaits. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Wheeler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kain Smash! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smash looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Wheeler! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Wheeler squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smash content just to control the position here. Wheeler is in a horrible position here. Smash smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Wheeler is looking to get to half guard. Smash fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Smash manages to capitalize on a mistake by Wheeler to take his back! Can Wheeler hold on?! Smash is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Smash has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Wheeler has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Smash looking to break Wheeler's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Wheeler remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Smash will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Wheeler is trying to get back to his feet but Smash has full control of the position and if anything, Wheeler has just worked his way into a worse spot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smash looking to break Wheeler's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Wheeler. Smash working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Wheeler. Wheeler stands and steps away. Smash gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Smash looks gassed! Wheeler swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Wheeler throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Smash. Wheeler throws a wild combination but nothing lands. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Smash has eaten all the pies! Wheeler with a lazy takedown attempt and Smash counters by clinching up. Smash goes for a takedown in the clinch but Wheeler prevents it.
Wheeler is trying to break the clinch but Smash has him pressed against the cage. Wheeler is looking to break free of the clinch but Smash has double underhooks. Wheeler has had enough of the clinch but Smash keeps him there for the moment. Wheeler gets underhooks to prevent Smash's takedown attempt.

God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Smash decides to pull guard. Wheeler missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Smash pushes Wheeler off and gets back to his feet.
Wheeler has his takedown stuffed and Smash counters with a takedown into side control. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryan Wheeler. That's going to take a lot out of him. This has been an exciting period of action! Wheeler is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Smash really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wheeler. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Smash scoring with punches and elbows. Smash decides to stand back up. Smash steps back and let's Wheeler get back to his feet.

and Smash counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Wheeler striking off his back but it's not causing Smash any problems. Smash would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Smash must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Smash decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Wheeler, up you get! Wheeler throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Smash decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Wheeler is trying to stand back up but Smash is controlling him
Smash escapes and gets back to his feet. Smash closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Smash blocks the strikes from Wheeler.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Wheeler tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Smash manages to move to mount!

A nice elbow there by Smash. Smash stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Wheeler misses with a takedown attempt and Smash counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Wheeler's guard now. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Wheeler is looking to stand back up but Smash counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Wheeler. Wheeler gets back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kain Smash dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Smash shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Smash is looking to take a break and control but Wheeler is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Wheeler tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Wheeler tries to kick Smash off but Smash keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Kain Smash has got the better of the ground game so far. Smash is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wheeler is just riding it out for now. Smash eventually gives up the hold. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Smash passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Wheeler!
That's one minute gone in the round. Wheeler is trying desperately to improve position. Wheeler is working hard here to advance position. Smash is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Smash shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wheeler's guard. Wheeler keeping moving, preventing Smash from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smash stands and steps away. Wheeler gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. A low kick from Wheeler is predictable there and Smash counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Wheeler kicks off Smash and gets to his feet. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wheeler closes the distance and lands a one-two. Wheeler lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Smash circles away quickly and effectively. Wheeler fails to land with a series of punches.

Wheeler is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Wheeler throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Wheeler throws a left and a right that both miss
so Smash counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. This has been an exciting period of action! Smash slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Smash trying to control but Wheeler is working from the bottom. Smash keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Wheeler's head. Wheeler is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Smash is controlling him. Smash works a leg free and moves into half guard. Smash has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Wheeler is trying to maintain the position but Smash is very close to passing his half guard. Wheeler tries to get to full guard but Smash has control of the leg. Wheeler wants to get back to his feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Wheeler with a poor takedown and Smash counters with a takedown into side control. Wheeler explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Wheeler throws a leg kick and Smash counters with a takedown into side control. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Smash wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wheeler, who protects the arm well. Smash tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Smash has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kain Smash showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

What's that going to do exactly? Smash controlling the pace for now. Smash is standing up, even though he is in mount. Wheeler misses with a jab, cross combination.
Wheeler shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Smash counters with a nice double leg into guard. Wheeler trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Wheeler misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Smash slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Wheeler throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The fighters are battling for position here. Smash manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Smash is trying to keep Wheeler in close.

and Smash counters with a shoot takedown. Wheeler fights it but they end up in guard. Wheeler looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Wheeler controls Smash momentarily but Smash frees himself. Smash wants to stand but Wheeler has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Wheeler will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Wheeler loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Smash is wriggling around but Wheeler manages to pass to half guard.
Smash scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Wheeler manages to mount him!
Wheeler has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Smash is working to get back to half guard.
Wheeler working Smash over with strikes here. Smash wants to control but Wheeler is having none of it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Smash wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Ryan Wheeler has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kain Smash is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Smash wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Wheeler.
And that's the end of the fight! Kain Smash comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Smash winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
