The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blow doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Blow misses the jab.
It seemed like Lightning was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Lightning tries a head kick but it misses.
Blow is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Lightning.
Nice defenses there by Lightning.
Lightning takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Lightning uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Blow.
Blow misses with an uppercut. Lightning saw that one coming.
Lightning ducks under a wild hook from Blow.
Lightning uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Blow.
Lightning's coach down at Thib's Sweat Shoppe was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Lightning's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Blow tries a head kick but it misses.
Blow misses with a double jab.
Blow takes one to the chin there.
Lightning with a nice calf kick.
Lightning on the wrong end of a nice jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Blow throws a sloppy head kick and Lightning moves out of range easily.
Lightning slips a jab from Blow.
Maurice Blow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lightning with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Lightning's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Blow connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Lightning scrambles back to his feet.
Blow misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lightning.
Blow takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Lightning ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Lightning lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

It looks like Maurice Blow has been cut.
A slow jab from Blow misses its intended target.
Blow misses with a left hand

and as Blow resets, Lightning pounces with a savage head kick that drops Blow to the mat! Blow looks wobbly but gets back to his feet on the count of 5. The referee continues the count to 8 then steps aside to let these two guys get back at it!
Blow lands a jab.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Lightning throws out a head kick that Blow doesn't see coming - it connects and sends Blow crashing to the mat face first! He's bounced up to his knees and is scrambling to get back to his feet and beat the count. He's up on 5 but still looks a bit groggy; will the referee allow it to continue??? He's taking a good look into Blow's eyes and has decided to let it go on!

Blow is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Blow avoids the head kick by Lightning.
Blow looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Blow throws the left hand but Lightning avoids the punch easily.
Lightning lands a head kick that sends Blow down! Blow is flopping around the mat trying to get back up, leaving the referee no choice but to wave off the fight! Lightning is victorious!
