The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carpenter misses with a takedown attempt
and Williams counters with a two punch combo.
Carpenter dives in for a single leg takedown but Williams sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
The fight stays on the outside here - Carpenter looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Carpenter misses with an uppercut.
Carpenter chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Williams can pounce on him.
Carpenter tries to clinch there but Williams circles away.
Williams changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Williams lands a jab to Carpenter's midsection.
Carpenter fails with an attempt to clinch.
Williams went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Williams looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Williams throws a series of strikes that have Carpenter backpedaling.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Carpenter takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Carpenter tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Williams counters with a crisp one two that drops Carpenter! Williams thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Carpenter to his feet! Carpenter is in big trouble!

It looks like Mike Carpenter has been cut.
Carpenter looks winded!
Williams connects with a superb combination that knocks Carpenter out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Williams before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Carpenter!
