PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Osama Akharraz (ranked 1357 p4p, 1254 weight class) and Augusto Pinochet (ranked 177 p4p, 164 weight class). Pinochet comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I Need a Pinochet kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akharraz lands with a slapping head kick.
Pinochet avoids the head kick by Akharraz.
And Pinochet responds with a good body kick, but Akharraz manages to step out the way in time.
Pinochet connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Akharraz rushes Pinochet and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Akharraz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Akharraz looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

It looks like Augusto Pinochet has been cut.
Pinochet looks to land a combination but Akharraz avoids it well.

Akharraz tries to close the distance and clinch but Pinochet swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Pinochet let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Akharraz swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Nice straight punches there by Pinochet. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Pinochet.
Akharraz fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Pinochet on the side of the head.

Akharraz connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Pinochet momentarily.
Pinochet is looking to slow Akharraz down with leg kicks.

A punch lands to the side of Pinochet 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Pinochet throws the kick towards the body but Akharraz avoids it.

Pinochet takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Akharraz checks a leg kick.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pinochet scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Akharraz doesn't seem bothered though.

Pinochet uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Akharraz.
Osama Akharraz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pinochet cracks Akharraz with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Akharraz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Akharraz tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pinochet paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Akharraz with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Pinochet to score with a decent uppercut.

Akharraz bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Pinochet keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Pinochet only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Pinochet lands a leg kick that knocks Akharraz off balance momentarily.
Pinochet throws a low kick but Akharraz moves out of range easily.
Akharraz scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Akharraz is rocked!
Pinochet looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Pinochet backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Akharraz's temple! It sends Akharraz violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Pinochet celebrates and the doctors try to help Akharraz!

A less than humble Augusto Pinochet misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
