Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thierry Bailly (ranked 6519 p4p, 4295 weight class) and Terry Harry (ranked 448 p4p, 362 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Bailly might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to MMA Entrance Music / Dustin Poirier. Thierry Bailly has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Thierry Bailly! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Terry Harry! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harry shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bailly manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Bailly looking to hit a scissor sweep but Harry is one step ahead there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Harry wants to control from the top but Bailly keeps moving. Bailly has his feet on Harry's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harry keeps the fight on the outside. Thierry Bailly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bailly shoots for a takedown but Harry saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. The fight stays on the outside here - Bailly looks like he's thinking about clinching though. That's one minute gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Harry. Harry closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Bailly is looking to take this one to the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thierry Bailly. That's going to take a lot out of him. Harry pulls guard. Harry tries to land a sweep but no joy. Bailly throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Harry holds on and takes a little breather. Harry has a closed guard, preventing Bailly from standing up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Harry trying to keep a closed guard but Bailly is proving a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Bailly looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Harry throws a body kick that misses. Bailly is looking to counter with a body kick. Harry gets in close and instigates a clinch. Harry pulls guard successfully.
Harry pulls Bailly in to control the position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bailly accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bailly avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Harry is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Harry is trying to control the position but Bailly postures up. Harry keeping moving, preventing Bailly from controlling successfully. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Harry is on top in guard.
Bailly has his foot on Harry's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Harry works his way back into a safe position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Bailly is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Harry is controlling him. Harry avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Harry gets to his feet. Bailly looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Terry Harry dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Bailly fails with the takedown. Harry shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Bailly scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Thierry Bailly is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bailly throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Harry's waist but Harry gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bailly off to one side. Harry stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Harry wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thierry Bailly. That's going to take a lot out of him. Harry has managed to clinch.
Harry jumps guard but Bailly turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Harry lands with a short shot to the head. This has been an exciting period of action! Harry fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Bailly wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Harry has him pressed against the cage. Bailly stops a takedown attempt from Harry.

Harry fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bailly, pushing him back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harry dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Harry's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Bailly shoots in looking for a takedown. Harry tries to sprawl out of it but Bailly keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Harry manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Bailly closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bailly lands in his opponent's guard. Harry has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Bailly has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Bailly blocks a body shot from Harry. Harry has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bailly jumps into guard, dragging Harry to the mat.
Harry pushes down on Bailly's leg and manages to get into half guard. Harry slips a nice elbow through Bailly's hands, connecting with Bailly's forehead. This has been an exciting period of action! Harry passes to side control. Bailly is trying to get back to his feet. Bailly manages to work his way to half guard, despite Harry's best efforts. Harry with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Harry is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bailly is just riding it out for now. Harry eventually gives up the hold. Terry Harry has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Harry wants to control but Bailly is keeping him busy. Harry trying to pass the guard but Bailly defending well. Harry is working for a kimura here but Bailly manages to reverse the position and he's now in Harry's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Bailly is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Bailly postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Bailly scoring with punches to the head and body. Bailly trying to control but Harry is working from the bottom. Bailly decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Terry Harry will probably get the nod - 10:9. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Harry decides to take the fight back to the feet. Bailly fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thierry Bailly. That's going to take a lot out of him. Harry tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Bailly is able to avoid easily. Bailly shoots in and gets a takedown into Harry's guard. Harry pushes Bailly off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. This has been an exciting period of action! Bailly fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Harry avoids it really well and circles away. Harry shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Bailly is trying to defend but Harry finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Bailly kicks off Harry and gets to his feet.

Harry turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Bailly is looking to reverse the position. Bailly seems a little lost for a moment, as Harry dominates the positioning. Bailly is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Harry's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Terry Harry is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Harry with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Thierry Bailly has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Terry Harry. Well Harry has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
