Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lebonon Currant (ranked 3214 p4p, 3824 weight class) and Olej Saganov (ranked 371 p4p, 427 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Saganov. Currant does a little dance to reset his feet.
Currant slips a jab and a cross from Saganov.
Saganov avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Saganov doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Currant works Saganov's body with a nice hook.
Saganov looks to score with a jab to the body but Currant is just out of range.

Currant takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Saganov misses with a straight left.
A little feinted left hand from Currant on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

and Saganov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Currant connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Saganov's hands.

Saganov lands a nice hook to Currant's body. Currant takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Currant tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Saganov was well out of range. Poor timing from Currant.
Currant darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Saganov drops Currant with a right and a left! Saganov comes rushing in but Currant regains his composure and manages to keep Saganov in guard.

It looks like Lebonon Currant has been cut.

Saganov slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Currant is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Saganov defends well.

Saganov drops back looking for a leg! Currant is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Currant manages to kick Saganov off! Saganov jumps back into Currant's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Saganov has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Currant is proving hard to escape from.

Saganov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Saganov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Saganov drops back, looking for a kneebar! Currant looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Currant looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Currant!

Currant thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Currant tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Saganov tries to buck Currant off but Currant is having none of it.

Saganov is trying to get back to his feet.
Saganov trying to control but Currant flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
Saganov just trying to survive but Currant is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Saganov looking very determined here, making life difficult for Currant.

Saganov defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Currant's arms.
Saganov is trying to get back to his feet but Currant has full control of the position and if anything, Saganov has just worked his way into a worse spot.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close round but I would say that Lebonon Currant will probably get the nod.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Saganov throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Saganov jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Currant throws the left hand but Saganov avoids the punch easily.
Saganov wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Lebonon Currant is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Saganov lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Currant takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Saganov catches Currant napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Currant to the canvas!

Currant is rocked!
Saganov tries to free his leg and advance position but Currant is retaining full guard.
Oh Currant is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Saganov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Lebonon Currant overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
