Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Alves (ranked 4544 p4p, 4232 weight class) and Was Jig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves comes to the cage accompanied by Cassiano - De bar em bar. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pedro Alves! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Was Jig! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alves throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Alves pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Alves drives through with a takedown into guard. Jig keeping moving, preventing Alves from controlling successfully. Jig wants to get back to his feet but Alves is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Alves might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Jig utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Alves stops Jig from standing up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jig is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Jig being controlled here, momentarily. Alves stands up from guard. Let's bang!
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jig tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Alves is in Jig's guard. Jig wriggles free and stands up. Alves keeps the fight on the outside. Jig has taken the fight to the clinch.
Alves takes a knee right on the jaw!
Alves is trying to push Jig away but Jig has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Jig tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Alves fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Alves tries to work over Jig's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jig has Alves pressed against the cage, preventing Alves from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Alves has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Jig scores with a knee to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Alves tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jig smiles and moves away.
Jig fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jig gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Alves has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jig is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pedro Alves. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jig blocking some punches.
Alves has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves is trying to pull guard but Jig has him pressed against the cage. Jig is pressed up against the cage. Alves has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jig down to the mat. Jig avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Alves dives in and scores a takedown into Jig's guard. Alves trying to control but Jig is working from the bottom. Jig wants to stand up but Alves is controlling him. Jig keeping moving, preventing Alves from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jig manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Alves is trying to push Jig away but Jig has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Alves tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jig just stands there and leans against the cage. Knees in the clinch landing for Jig.

Jig clinches up against the cage. Alves is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Jig lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

It looks like Pedro Alves has been cut. Alves is trying to drag Jig to the mat but Jig just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pedro Alves. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Was Jig seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Jig leaning his opponent against the cage. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Jig has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Alves changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jig fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Alves scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Alves is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Jig has managed to free his arm - good work. Jig wants to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Jig is trying to escape back to his feet but Alves uses the scramble to pass into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Alves is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jig is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Alves connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Jig some visible discomfort.
Alves scores with a couple of short elbows. Jig is trying to get back to his feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Alves is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jig is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jig is not content to let Alves control the position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Was Jig showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Pedro Alves's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jig walks away with a smile on his face. Alves gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Jig gets a clinch. Alves has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Jig after a bit of a struggle. Alves tries to pull guard but Jig won't allow it.

Jig rushes Alves and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Jig lands an elbow inside that Alves shrugs off. Alves tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jig just stands there and leans against the cage. Alves breaks the clinch.
Alves shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jig napping and manages to drive through into side control! Jig explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jig tries to clinch up. Alves shoots in but no luck this time. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Alves on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Jig. Jig obviously looking to wear him down.
Jig rushes Alves and presses him up against the cage. Alves tries to pull guard but Jig forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Jig lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Alves looking for a takedown. Alves goes for a takedown attempt but Jig pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
And that's the end of the fight! Was Jig comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Jig has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
