Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Conny Ponny (ranked 4779 p4p, 4960 weight class) and Jiri Teml (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jiri Teml will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Conny Ponny!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jiri Teml!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Teml misses with a left hand
and Ponny counters with a right hand to the body.
Teml misses with a wild body shot.
Ponny lands the left hand.
Ponny lands with a shot to the body.
Teml tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ponny manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ponny smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Ponny lands with a shot to the body.
Ponny feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Temls jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Teml throws a sloppy head kick and Ponny moves out of range easily.
Ponny scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
A jab lands there for Ponny.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Teml shoots in for a double leg but Ponny sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Ponny clinches.
Ponny lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Ponny lands a hook to the side of the head.
Teml tries to throw a body punch but Ponny avoids it by throwing Teml back against the cage.
Ponny is leaning against Teml and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
A left hand lands to the body for Ponny.

Ponny escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Teml takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Ponny throws a right hand that Teml ducks under and follows up with a left that Teml also avoids with ease.
Ponny lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Ponny dodges the punch combination from Teml.
As Teml tries to get set, Ponny tries to push him back and clinch up but Teml manages to avoid the attempt.

Ponny throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Teml sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Ponny swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Teml fails with an attempt to clinch.
Teml uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ponny.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Teml.
Ponny rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Teml moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A little jabbing left from Teml on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Teml takes one on the button.
Teml tries to clinch but Ponny moves away
and Ponny counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Teml fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ponny avoids it really well and circles away.
Conny Ponny has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jiri Teml.
Teml wants to clinch.
Ponny paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Teml displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ponny throws out the jab.
Ponny moves into range and connects with a jab.
Teml tries for a takedown but Ponny sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Teml on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Teml takes one to the side of the head.
Ponny cracks Teml with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Ponny clinches up against the cage.

Teml's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Teml shoots in for a double leg but Ponny sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Teml changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ponny tries to avoid it but Teml manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ponny to the ground. Ponny escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Conny Ponny is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Teml looks winded!
A jab lands there for Ponny.
Teml closes the distance looking to clinch
and Ponny counters with a straight right hand.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Ponny throws a series of punches but Teml avoids them all with ease.
As Ponny backs off Teml throws a huge counter combo but Ponny manages to avoid it all.
Teml moves in looking to clinch but Ponny pushes him off.
Ponny swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Teml.
Teml misses the shot to the body.
Teml wants to clinch
and Ponny counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Conny Ponny is winning the standup battle so far.
Teml tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Teml lands with a slapping head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Teml has closed the distance and engaged Ponny in a clinch.
Ponny lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Teml backwards.

Teml shoots for a double leg takedown but Ponny sprawls well. He's pushed Teml's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Teml wants to take the fight to the mat but Ponny manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Ponny is pushing Teml up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Ponny stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Ponny has Teml pushed against the cage.
Conny Ponny has scored more points in the clinch so far.
Teml is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Ponny to keep the fight standing.

Teml tries to score a body lock takedown but Ponny shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Teml ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Teml no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Teml takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Ponny cracks Teml with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Ponny throws the left hand but Teml avoids the punch easily.
Teml doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Ponny cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Teml misses with a two punch combination.
Ponny shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Teml eats them both and turns towards Ponny to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Ponny's corner calls for a 1-2. Ponny obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Ponny's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

Ponny throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Teml stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Ponny just leaning against Teml, taking a breather.
Ponny stalling.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Ponny for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

Ponny seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
Ponny pushes Teml back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Ponny digs a right hand into Teml's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Teml's gas tank.

Ponny breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Teml shoots for a double leg takedown but Ponny sprawls well. He's pushed Teml's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Teml takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Ponny fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Ponny digs a good body shot into Teml's ribs.

Teml has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ponny finds it's way round the side to connect with Teml's head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Teml doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Ponny slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Ponny catches Teml with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Ponny is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Teml can do to turn this around?
Ponny darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Ponny fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Ponny feints a jab promting Teml to slip. Ponny then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Teml slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Teml takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Ponny stuns Teml with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Ponny swats away the attempt to clinch by Teml.
Teml shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Nice straight punches there by Ponny. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Ponny.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ponny, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
