With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mikhail Bakhtin!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bakhtin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mesquita appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Bakhtin scores with a decent looking hook.
Mesquita shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Mesquita thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Bakhtin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mesquita. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mesquita lands a big shot there that rocks Bakhtin but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Mesquita really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
