The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trece fails in his attempt to clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Trece looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Trece tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Thomas moves into range and clinches up with Trece.

Thomas has picked Trece up - he's going for a ride! Thomas dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Thomas perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Thomas connects with a nice short shot to Trece's temple.

Thomas is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Trece doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Thomas .
Thomas has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Trece knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Thomas on the ground.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Thomas is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Trece is just riding it out for now. Thomas eventually gives up the hold.

Well Thomas has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
