This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 13 wins and 17 losses; Darian Cruz!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Luis Engracia and Felipe Paraventi.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Cruz shoots in but Tidd avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Cruz goes for a double leg but Tidd avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Tidd continues to drive forward.
Tidd closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Cruz quickly recovers to half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Tidd (2) vs (0) Cruz
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Cruz tries to get to full guard but Tidd has control of the leg.

Cruz is looking for a triangle but Tidd pushes his legs off easily.
Tidd is stalling in the full guard.
Cruz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tidd doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tidd manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Cruz wants to sweep but no luck.
Tidd wants to control from the top but Cruz keeps moving.
Cruz is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Cruz looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cruz has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Tidd should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Cruz has tightened it up now! Tidd should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
