This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 8 wins and 8 losses; Ruben Gracie! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 10 wins and 6 losses; Valentin Saric!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Dean Styles and Bruno Lombardi.


Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious?

Gracie has closed the distance and engaged Saric in a clinch.

Saric gets control of Gracie's arms and successfully pulls guard. Saric will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Saric is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gracie is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Saric is defending well though. Gracie let's go of the attempt for now.
Gracie doesn't have the hooks in and Saric manages to turn into his guard.

Saric avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Saric drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Saric jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Gracie wants to control but Saric passes easily into half guard.
Gracie is trying to get back to full guard.
Saric wants to take a breather but Gracie is having none of it.

Saric passes Gracie's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Saric is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gracie defends it well.

Saric is looking to stall here but Gracie recovers full guard.

Gracie is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Saric defends well.

Saric is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Gracie is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Gracie has escaped and now he's on top!

Saric has his foot on Gracie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gracie works his way back into a safe position though.

Gracie is pushing down on Saric's leg trying to pass to half guard. Saric is fighting to maintain full guard but Gracie has managed to sneak the leg through.

Gracie avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Gracie got a little sloppy there for a moment and Saric has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gracie has managed to get both his arms back between Saric's legs - danger averted.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Saric is on top in guard.

Saric stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gracie swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Saric looking to sit in guard and control but Gracie gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Gracie might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Saric is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gracie is aware though and is defending well.
Gracie is pushing down on Saric's leg trying to pass to half guard. Saric is fighting to maintain full guard but Gracie has managed to sneak the leg through.

Saric is pressing down on Gracie's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Saric has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Gracie should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Saric has tightened it up now! Gracie should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

After the fight, Valentin Saric was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
