Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jin Yi (ranked 636 p4p, 1021 weight class) and Vladimir Punchsky (ranked 95 p4p, 155 weight class). Yi comes to the cage accompanied by Wobble. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jin Yi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 26 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vladimir Punchsky! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Glass and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Punchsky throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Punchsky throws the left hand but Yi avoids the punch easily. It looked like Yi was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Punchsky. Punchsky has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Punchsky connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Yi's hands. A slapping leg kick lands for Punchsky.
Nice uppercut there from Yi. Punchsky throws a leg kick and Punchsky takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Punchsky misses with a looping right. Yi throws a big shot that misses. Punchsky lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Punchsky misses with a few strikes there.
Yi half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Punchsky just misses with a punch to the body.
Yi misses with a wild body shot. A combination from Punchsky does no damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yi with a body punch. A glancing blow. Punchsky misses with a leg kick. Yi staying out of range there. Punchsky rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Yi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Yi takes a swing at Punchsky's ribcage but misses. A telegraphed right hand from Punchsky misses the target. Yi feinted there with a counter leg kick. Yi showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Punchsky.
Punchsky looks to score with a jab to the body but Yi is just out of range. Yi takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. A jab from Punchsky does it's job there. Punchsky looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Yi steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Punchsky. Punchsky looks to score with a jab to the body but Yi is just out of range. We've been hearing reports that Yi has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Punchsky swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Yi counters with a single leg into guard. Punchsky didn't expect that. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Punchsky keeping moving, preventing Yi from controlling successfully. Punchsky looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Yi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Punchsky swivels though and keeps the full guard. Yi keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Punchsky's head. Yi content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Yi is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Yi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Yi passes Punchsky's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Yi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Punchsky's head. Yi throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Yi is looking to advance position but Punchsky won't allow it. Punchsky is looking to improve his position.

Punchsky doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Yi. Punchsky is concentrating on defense, preventing Yi from advancing position.

Yi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Punchsky does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Yi is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Yi slips a nice elbow through Punchsky's hands, connecting with Punchsky's forehead. Yi is trying to control the action in half guard but Punchsky is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Yi prevents Punchsky from improving his position. Yi looks to score some points with some ground and pound. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jin Yi dominated that round. That's time! Yi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Yi sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Vladimir Punchsky is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Punchsky keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Yi. Despite the aggression on Punchsky's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Yi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Punchsky is fending him off so far but Yi persists. Nope, Punchsky circles away and we're back to standing. Punchsky misses with a hook. Yi ducked under it nicely. Yi moves away from the strike by Punchsky. Yi fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Yi avoids the body shot from Punchsky.
Punchsky throws a wild combination but nothing lands. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A shot to the body from Yi misses and Punchsky counters with a straight right hand. Yi misses with a lunging right hand
and Punchsky cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Punchsky keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's one minute gone in the round. Punchsky misses with a hook. Yi ducked under it nicely. Yi slips a jab and a cross from Punchsky.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Yi slips under a jab. Yi scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Yi throws a leg kick and Punchsky cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. A thudding body kick lands there by Punchsky!
Punchsky throws a body shot but no joy. Punchsky gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Punchsky feints a jab promting Yi to slip. Punchsky then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Yi slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Punchsky throws a poor cross that misses
enabling Yi to counter with a crisp jab. Vladimir Punchsky seems to be getting the better of the standup. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Punchsky throws a jab when Yi was well out of range. Yi fires out a quick counter leg kick but Punchsky just manages to avoid it. Yi throws a leg kick and Punchsky counters with a stiff right hand. Punchsky ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Punchsky throws out a counter right but Yi avoids it with no problem. Punchsky comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Punchsky moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Yi misses with a takedown and Punchsky counters with a stiff right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jin Yi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Punchsky lands a head shot. Punchsky misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Yi counters with a stiff right hand. Punchsky fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Punchsky staying out of range there. And Punchsky responds with a good body kick, but Yi manages to step out the way in time. Vladimir Punchsky is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Yi listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Punchsky swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Punchsky throws a series of punches but Yi avoids them all with ease. Yi takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Punchsky takes one to the chin there. Yi dives in for a single leg takedown but Punchsky sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Yi lands a left hand that snaps the head of Punchsky backwards. Punchsky working some nice short punches in the clinch. Yi taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks. Punchsky has a couple of punches blocked by Yi.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Yi misses with a right hand enabling Punchsky to counter with a crisp jab. Punchsky connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Yi's hands. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Punchsky uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Yi has time to react. Yi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Punchsky's waist but Punchsky gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Yi off to one side. Punchsky ducks under a wild hook from Yi. Nice shot by Yi. Yi feints and as Punchsky raises his hands in defense, Yi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Yi stopping the sweep attempt from Punchsky. Yi wants to control from the top but Punchsky keeps moving. Yi loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Yi in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Vladimir Punchsky showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! A looping hook to the body misses from Yi. Punchsky does a little dance to reset his feet. Yi misses with a leg kick. Yi shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Yi connects with the punch. Punchsky slips under a jab. Yi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Punchsky sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Yi somewhat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A shot to the body from Punchsky misses and Yi cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Yi thows a leg kick but Punchsky checks it and Punchsky counters with a lovely straight right hand! Yi looks for a takedown but Punchsky sprawls well.

Vladimir Punchsky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Punchsky lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Punchsky bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Yi's head backwards. Punchsky lands a head shot. Yi catches Punchsky with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Yi tests Punchsky's chin there with a solid looking shot. Punchsky fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Yi manages to avoid it. It looked like Yi was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Punchsky throws a half hearted mid kick. Yi scores with a leg kick.

Punchsky takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Yi gets a takedown into half guard. Yi working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Punchsky blocking the ground and pound attempt from Yi. Yi is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Yi missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Yi sitting in guard here, content to control. Punchsky looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yi trying to control but Punchsky is working from the bottom. Yi is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Punchsky is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Yi is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Yi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Yi passes Punchsky's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Punchsky wants to get back to his feet.
Yi is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Yi tries to pass the half guard into mount. Punchsky knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Punchsky is refusing to be controlled, as Yi sits in half guard. Yi prevents Punchsky from standing back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. A looping hook to the body misses from Punchsky. Yi does a little dance to reset his feet. A jab from Yi misses. Yi blocks a jab.
And that's the end of the fight! Vladimir Punchsky comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Punchsky has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
