Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jason Shields (ranked 4617 p4p, 4655 weight class) and Lorenzo Vittalli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Vittalli manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Shields on his heels. He'll look to pass Shields's guard now, I'm sure.

Vittalli is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Shields goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Lorenzo Vittalli has been cut.

Vittalli darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Shields manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Vittalli keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Vittalli is trying to drag Shields to the mat but Shields just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Vittalli has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Shields is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Jason Shields has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lorenzo Vittalli.

Vittalli feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Shields might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Vittalli has an Americana. Shields didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Vittalli is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Vittalli hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
