Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bas Rutten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rutten is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: You Call My Name. Aaron Lee has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aaron Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bas Rutten! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Rutten closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lee circles away. Rutten tries to clinch but Lee moves out of range. Lee keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Rutten tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lee swivels and escapes. Aaron Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bas Rutten. Lee scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Lee stalling. Rutten trying to hold on to Lee's head to control him but Lee postures up.
Lee thows a huge punch but Rutten dodges it nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rutten is looking for a sweep. Lee is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Rutten has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lee is working away from the top position though. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lee in particular looking to stall. Rutten is trying to get back to full guard. Lee is figuring out what he wants to do next. Rutten tries to roll over but Lee keeps him under control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Lee controlling the action here. Rutten is trying to maintain the position but Lee is very close to passing his half guard. Lee slows the pace down in half guard.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Aaron Lee just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Rutten tries to clinch but Lee moves out of range. Lee lands with a nice combination. Rutten backs away looking to recover. Rutten tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lee swats him away and circles back towards the center. Rutten has his takedown stuffed and Lee counters with a shoot takedown. Rutten fights it but they end up in guard. Lee seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Lee seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rutten for as long as he can get away with.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lee trying to control the position from guard on top but Rutten is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lee stays in close to Rutten's body and controls the position. Rutten has his foot on Lee's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lee works his way back into a safe position though. Lee is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Lee wants to control from the top but Rutten keeps moving. Lee slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aaron Lee dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Rutten with a lazy takedown attempt and Lee counters with a nice leg kick. Rutten gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Lee decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rutten's guard. Rutten avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Lee is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Lee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rutten swivels though and keeps the full guard. Rutten is trying to control the position but Lee postures up. Lee controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lee has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Rutten avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Rutten gets underhooks to prevent Lee's takedown attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rutten wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lee has him pressed against the cage. Rutten has had enough of the clinch but Lee keeps him there for the moment. Rutten trying to control the position but instead, Lee has worked for underhooks and has pushed Rutten into the cage. Lee keeps control of Rutten as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Lee manages to break the clinch.
Rutten tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Rutten misses with a takedown attempt and Lee counters with a three punch combo that has Rutten backing up. Rutten nods at Lee to acknowledge the strikes. Aaron Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bas Rutten. Rutten throws a hook to the side of Lee's head but Lee sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Rutten lunges at Lee with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Lee's hand. Rutten with a lazy takedown attempt and Lee counters with a single leg into guard. Rutten didn't expect that. Rutten looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lee is one step ahead there. Lee controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Rutten has his feet on Lee's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rutten doesn't succeed with the takedown and Lee counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rutten won't be happy with that. Lee is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Rutten's shoulder. That is not cool. Rutten manages to work his way to half guard, despite Lee's best efforts. Lee sitting and controlling from the half guard. Rutten wants to control but Lee is keeping busy and won't allow it. Lee takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Lee thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rutten's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rutten is pressing down on Lee's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Rutten keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully. Rutten looking for a sweep. Not yet Rutten, not yet. Rutten is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Lee content to stall in guard here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lee trying to control but Rutten is working from the bottom. Rutten is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aaron Lee dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Rutten tries to clinch up and Lee counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rutten's guard now. Rutten is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Lee slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee won't allow Rutten to sweep him here. Rutten bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lee's guard. Lee has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Rutten is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Lee. Rutten wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lee keeps working. Check out the look on Rutten's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Rutten tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rutten has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rutten working the head and body with strikes. Rutten lands a few punches from side control. Rutten wants to control but Lee is keeping him busy. Lee can't do much from the bottom here. Rutten trying to control the position but Lee is working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now. Rutten tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Rutten shoots in for a double leg but Lee sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Rutten is looking to clinch. Lee goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Rutten has his takedown stuffed and Lee counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rutten won't be happy with that. Lee lands a decent elbow from side control. Lee wants to control but Rutten is keeping him busy. Aaron Lee is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Rutten regains half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Aaron Lee showed his dominance in that final round. Well Lee has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
