PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Leen (ranked 4778 p4p, 4776 weight class) and Peter Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Leen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Peter Fighter!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leen goes for a double leg but Fighter avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Fighter continues to drive forward.
Leen is looking to control Fighter's arms but Fighter gets an underhook and turns him. Now Leen has his back to the cage.
Leen tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Fighter keeps control of Leen as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Leen has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Fighter uses from the top position.

Fighter seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Leen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fighter gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Leen keeping moving, preventing Fighter from controlling successfully.

Leen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Fighter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Leen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fighter won't allow Leen to get back to his feet.
Leen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fighter manages to get himself to full guard.

Leen stands up from Fighter's guard - Leen perhaps looking for a knockout.
Leen takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Fighter slips a straight right by Leen.
Jay Leen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fighter dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Leen tries to clinch there but Fighter circles away.
Leen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Fighter punishes Leen's body with a nice straight punch.
Leen is breathing heavily.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Fighter holds on and takes a little breather.
Leen wants to pass the guard but Fighter is keeping the position.
Leen stays in close to Fighter's body and controls the position.

Leen stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Leen throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Fighter counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Fighter is looking for the big counter here.
Fighter lands a nice hook to Leen's body. Leen takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fighter lands a slapping body shot.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jay Leen will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Leen throws a leg kick but Fighter sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Leen walks into a stiff left hand from Fighter.

Fighter drives through and clinches with Leen against the cage.
Fighter scores with a shoulder strike.
Leen has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Leen wants to break free but Fighter has control.
Fighter stalling.
Fighter scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Fighter has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Leen is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Fighter pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Leen can't break the clinch.
Fighter pushes Leen back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Fighter throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Fighter lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Fighter works on Leen's body with a couple of short punches.
Fighter softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Fighter cracks Leen with a nice body shot.
Fighter lands a nice uppercut.

Fighter lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Leen backwards.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Fighter lands a nice shot to the body.

Leen is rocked!

Fighter cracks Leen with a nice body shot.

Fighter's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Fighter sends Leen crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Fighter is motioning to the referee to let Leen up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Oh Leen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

It looks like Jay Leen has been cut.
Fighter fakes the body blow, causing Leen to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Leen goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
