The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amaral clinches up with Johanssen and pushes him back against the cage.
Johanssen drops down looking for an ankle pick but Amaral pulls his leg out and moves away.
Johanssen tries to land a body kick
enabling Amaral to counter with a crisp jab.
Johanssen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Johanssen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Johanssen is looking to take a break and control but Amaral is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Amaral takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Johanssen is landing with some decent strikes but Amaral is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
