Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ryomei Tanaka (ranked 4713 p4p, 4628 weight class) and Jerry McLarry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryomei Tanaka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jerry McLarry! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Felipe Paraventi and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McLarry moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. McLarry connects with a crisp jab. Tanaka drives through and clinches with McLarry against the cage.
Tanaka breaks the clinch.
A big left from Tanaka misses. Tanaka dives in and grabs McLarry's left leg, looking for a takedown. McLarry pushes down on Tanaka's head and hops out. McLarry misses with a straight left. Tanaka changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McLarry tries to avoid it but Tanaka manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McLarry to the ground. McLarry escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Tanaka closes the distance and clinches up with McLarry, looking for a takedown. Tanaka pushes McLarry against the cage but McLarry circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryomei Tanaka. That's going to take a lot out of him. McLarry avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
McLarry fails to land with a series of punches.
A looping hook to the body misses from McLarry. Tanaka does a little dance to reset his feet. Tanaka dives in for a single leg takedown but McLarry sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! McLarry is trying to break the clinch but Tanaka has him pressed against the cage. McLarry can't break the clinch.
Tanaka jumps into guard, dragging McLarry to the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's one minute gone in the round. McLarry wants to stand but Tanaka is controlling his posture from full guard. McLarry really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tanaka. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. McLarry stands up from Tanaka's guard - McLarry perhaps looking for a knockout. Ryomei Tanaka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tanaka changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McLarry tries to avoid it but Tanaka manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McLarry to the ground. McLarry escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jerry McLarry is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jab by McLarry. Tanaka could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Tanaka takes a shot to the body in his stride.
McLarry throws a shot from downtown. Tanaka moves away and avoids it. McLarry misses with a hook. Tanaka ducked under it nicely. Tanaka shoots in and drives through. McLarry sprawls well. McLarry lands a jab to the nose. Tanaka instigates a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McLarry pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A slow jab from McLarry misses its intended target. Tanaka is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from McLarry. McLarry is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. McLarry lands a jab to the head.
Tanaka is rocked! Tanaka walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from McLarry! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jerry McLarry!
