Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pete Roberts (ranked 2982 p4p, 4557 weight class) and Jimbo Fisher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pete Roberts! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jimbo Fisher! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Seu Braga and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fisher shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Roberts's guard. Roberts manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Roberts has Fisher pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Fisher manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Roberts can't get the takedown.
Fisher looking for a takedown. Fisher is pressed up against the cage. Roberts has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Fisher down to the mat. Fisher avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pete Roberts. That's going to take a lot out of him. No luck for Roberts with that takedown attempt. Fisher misses with a body shot.
Roberts appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Fisher looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Fisher passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. Roberts wants to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fisher trying to control from half guard but Roberts is working away. Fisher uses his free foot to push down on Roberts's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Roberts. Fisher looking to finish Roberts with some ground and pound. This is bad for Roberts! Roberts tries to lock up and control but Fisher gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Fisher blocks Roberts's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Roberts on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Roberts tries to get out of the position. Fisher takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Roberts swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Roberts slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fisher is trying to control the action in half guard but Roberts is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Roberts manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Fisher keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Fisher changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Roberts fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Fisher tries to clinch up but Roberts circles away and keeps his distance. Roberts attempts a counter takedown but Fisher avoids it well and moves away. Roberts is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Fisher. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Fisher tries to bum rush Roberts with a series of wild strikes but Roberts uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Fisher gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Roberts counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Roberts landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Fisher is trying to get back to full guard. Roberts looks to land a strike but Fisher avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roberts throwing strikes from guard but Fisher blocks nicely. Roberts postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Roberts throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Fisher works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Fisher lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Fisher wanted to stand there but Roberts had control of the position. Roberts manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Fisher tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Roberts smiles and moves away.
Jimbo Fisher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Roberts looking to score a takedown here. Fisher is defending well but Roberts drives through and ends up in Fisher's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Roberts postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Roberts landing some decent shots from guard. Roberts wants to control from the top but Fisher keeps moving. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Roberts's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Fisher is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Fisher seems to be looking for submissions.
Roberts blocking the ground and pound attempt from Fisher. Roberts pushes Fisher off and gets back to his feet. Fisher clinches up with Roberts and pushes him back against the cage. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Pete Roberts will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Fisher has a takedown stuffed. Roberts changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Roberts really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Fisher decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Roberts kicks off Fisher and gets to his feet. Pete Roberts is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Fisher tries to close the distance and clinch but Roberts swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Fisher pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Fisher gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Roberts counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Roberts. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Roberts postures up.
Roberts avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Pete Roberts overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roberts slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Fisher takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Fisher takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Fisher defending against the ground and pound. Roberts working away. Roberts scores with punches from side control. Roberts scoring with punches and elbows. Roberts is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fisher can do to turn this around? Fisher takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Roberts scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Fisher to see if he's OK.
Fisher is rocked! Fisher is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Fisher is still in real trouble! Can Roberts finish him? Fisher takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roberts cracks Fisher with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Roberts immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Fisher is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Roberts!
