Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doug Sutter (ranked 4314 p4p, 4616 weight class) and Carvel Watkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Doug Sutter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carvel Watkins!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sutter misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Watkins.
Watkins throws a big counter head kick but Sutter avoids it with no problem.
Watkins fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sutter sprawls well initially but Watkins persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Watkins in particular looking to stall.
Watkins is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Watkins is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Watkins scores with a couple of good head shots there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Watkins controlling the position easily from mount.
Watkins has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Watkins stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Sutter throws a shot from downtown. Watkins moves away and avoids it.
Watkins shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Watkins was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Watkins working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Sutter dodges the ground and pound from Watkins.
Sutter takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Watkins tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Watkins has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
You can see the frustration on Sutter's face as Watkins controls the position.

It looks like Watkins might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Watkins content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Watkins in side control, throwing shots but Sutter defends.
Watkins is working Sutter over with some ground and pound from side control.
Watkins is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sutter has escaped the position, nice work there.
An elbow from Watkins crashes against the mat.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Watkins takes a little break here. Sutter wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
The strikes coming from Watkins are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Watkins drives through with a takedown into Sutter's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Watkins wants to control from the top but Sutter keeps moving.
Sutter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Watkins on the ground.
Watkins is pushing down on Sutter's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sutter is fighting to maintain full guard but Watkins has managed to sneak the leg through.

Watkins has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Sutter defend it? Watkins steps over the head and cranks it - Sutter is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Watkins!
