Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ike Wellstone (ranked 1262 p4p, 1229 weight class) and Bill Smif (ranked 167 p4p, 163 weight class). Smif has chosen Playtime as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ike Wellstone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bill Smif!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Alyssa Summers and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wellstone on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Smif connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Wellstone momentarily.
Wellstone buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Bill Smif seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smif misses the jab.
Smif throws a shot from downtown. Wellstone moves away and avoids it.
Wellstone appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Wellstone bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Smif swings widly with a right hand
and Wellstone counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Wellstone walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Smif throws a poor cross that misses
and Wellstone counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Smif is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Smif connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Wellstone is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Smif cracks Wellstone with a hook to the temple - Wellstone is on wobbly legs here! Smif swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Wellstone falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Smif wins by TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Bill Smif!
After winning the bout, Bill Smif thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
