Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jon Masvidal (ranked 3178 p4p, 1992 weight class) and Kamaru Usman Jr (ranked 387 p4p, 257 weight class). Masvidal comes to the cage accompanied by scarface. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Kamaru Usman Jr enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jon Masvidal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kamaru Usman Jr!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Alyssa Summers and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Usman Jr uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Masvidal.
Masvidal gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Usman Jr blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Usman Jr drops down looking for an ankle pick but Masvidal pulls his leg out and moves away.
Usman Jr has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Masvidal enables Usman Jr to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Masvidal manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Masvidal kicks Usman Jr off and gets to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Masvidal throws a big shot that misses.
Nice defenses there by Usman Jr.

Usman Jr circles away from the clinch attempt.
Usman Jr throws the left hand but Masvidal avoids the punch easily.
Masvidal tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Usman Jr paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Usman Jr drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Masvidal throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Masvidal wants to clinch.
Usman Jr drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Masvidal defends it well.

Usman Jr shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Masvidal regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Usman Jr.
Masvidal utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Usman Jr's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Usman Jr trying to control the position from guard on top but Masvidal is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Usman Jr pushing down on Masvidal's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Masvidal gets back to full guard.
Usman Jr with a flurry of punches that miss.
Usman Jr has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Usman Jr missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Masvidal is working an open guard so Usman Jr takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Usman Jr closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Masvidal to the mat! Masvidal manages to get full guard.
Usman Jr throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Masvidal works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Usman Jr throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Usman Jr is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Usman Jr slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Usman Jr creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Usman Jr tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Usman Jr has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Masvidal managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Usman Jr.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Kamaru Usman Jr will probably get the nod.

Usman Jr misses the shot to the body.
Masvidal tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Usman Jr counters with a shoot takedown. Masvidal fights it but they end up in guard.
Masvidal can't keep his opponent in guard - Usman Jr advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Usman Jr lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Masvidal! More strikes land and this one is all over! Usman Jr jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kamaru Usman Jr!
Kamaru Usman Jr bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
