Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Satoru Gojo (ranked 1448 p4p, 2172 weight class) and Hristo Borisov (ranked 188 p4p, 266 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Satoru Gojo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Hristo Borisov! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Eddie Farnsworth and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Borisov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gojo tries to clinch but Borisov moves away and Borisov counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Borisov. Borisov in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Borisov throwing strikes from guard but Gojo blocks nicely. Borisov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gojo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Borisov has managed to get both his arms back between Gojo's legs - danger averted. Gojo keeping moving, preventing Borisov from controlling successfully. Borisov controlling from the top position. Gojo has his foot on Borisov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Borisov works his way back into a safe position though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gojo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's one minute gone in the round. Borisov wants to control from the top but Gojo keeps moving. Gojo throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

No, Borisov has managed to get both his arms back between Gojo's legs - danger averted. Gojo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Gojo throws his legs up looking for a submission but Borisov uses it to pass to side control.
Borisov decides to stand back up. Borisov fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Borisov closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Gojo is trying to pull guard but Borisov has him pressed against the cage. Gojo is trying to pull guard but Borisov turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Borisov has hold of one of Gojo's legs. Gojo is fighting the takedown attempt but Borisov gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Gojo keeping moving, preventing Borisov from controlling successfully.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Gojo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Borisov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Borisov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Borisov throws a big right hand that misses. Gojo has his foot on Borisov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Borisov works his way back into a safe position though. Borisov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gojo swivels though and keeps the full guard. Borisov controls from within his opponent's guard. Borisov stands up and waves to Gojo to follow him. Borisov decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Borisov content to control rather than advance. Gojo wants to improve his position but Borisov is controlling well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gojo is working hard here to advance position. Borisov tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Borisov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gojo keeps working. Borisov controlling the action here. Gojo with the active half guard here but Borisov passes nicely into side control. Gojo manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Borisov can do anything to dispel that myth. Gojo tries to pass to full mount but Borisov defends it. Borisov looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gojo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Borisov sees it coming and defends easily. Gojo seems to be looking for submissions.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Borisov desperately trying to maintain half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Hristo Borisov dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Gojo doesn't manage to clinch there - Borisov circles away.
Gojo gets a clinch. Borisov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gojo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Borisov paws at him with a jab and circles away. Borisov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Gojo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Borisov tries to avoid it but Gojo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Borisov to the ground. Borisov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Gojo is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. Borisov defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gojo. Gojo closes the distance looking to clinch and Borisov counters with a takedown into side control. Borisov tries for a kimura but Gojo is defending well. Borisov controlling the position. Borisov is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Gojo is trying to escape and Borisov transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Gojo is forced to tap! Nice work there by Borisov! Very nice indeed!
