Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shingen Takeda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Aiko San!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Chad Campbell and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
San slips a jab from Takeda.

Takeda clinches with his opponent.
Takeda is trying to pull guard but San has him pressed against the cage.
San misses with a body punch.
Takeda misses with a short punch on the inside.
San's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Nice body punch from Takeda.
San tries to throw a body punch but Takeda avoids it by throwing San back against the cage.

Takeda jumps guard.
Takeda seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
San sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Takeda isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. San stacks Takeda on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by San!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Takeda tries to improve position but can't.

That's one minute gone in the round.
San is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Takeda will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Takeda is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on San's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Takeda regains full guard. Nicely done.
San looking to pass the guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Takeda is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and San defends well.

Takeda has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. San is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Takeda.
Takeda manages to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
San stalling.
Takeda wants to improve his position but San is controlling well.

Takeda is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! San is tapping! Great win for Takeda!
