The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yuong shoots for a double leg takedown but Hooker sprawls well. He's pushed Yuong's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Hooker closes the distance and clinches.

Hooker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hooker shoots for a takedown but Yuong saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Yuong has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hooker uses from the top position.
Yuong seems keen to control Hooker's posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Yuong is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Hooker has his hands clasped together but Yuong extends and breaks Hooker's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Yuong.
