Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ton Fron (ranked 5865 p4p, 4817 weight class) and Tapani Kangas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ton Fron!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tapani Kangas!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kangas listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Fron shoots in and drives through. Kangas sprawls well.
Kangas wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Kangas dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Kangas avoids a kick to the body.
Kangas changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Kangas lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Fron rushes Kangas and presses him up against the cage.

Fron breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Fron scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Fron decides to stand back up.

Fron bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Fron is trying to get an arm triangle but Kangas is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kangas managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Fron.
Fron controlling the position.
Fron sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Kangas is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Fron really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kangas is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Kangas lands a nice shot to the body.
Kangas uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Fron has time to react.
Ton Fron is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kangas moves into range and connects with a jab.

Fron gets the takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Kangas's face as Fron controls the position.
Fron advances to full mount.
Fron lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Fron is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kangas can do to turn this around?

Fron takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Kangas is working to get back to half guard.
Fron controlling from the full mount.
Fron lands a big shot there that rocks Kangas but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Fron sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fron thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Fron avoids the attempt from Kangas to control.
Fron lands with some strikes.
Fron looking to control and managing it successfully.

Fron is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kangas can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Kangas takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fron controlling his opponent.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ton Fron dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fron is defended easily by Kangas.
Kangas punishes Fron's body with a nice straight punch.
Fron avoids the body shot from Kangas.
Kangas comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Fron tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kangas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fron somewhat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fron takes one on the button.

Good standup being displayed there by Kangas as he connects with a hook.
Kangas lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Fron at a distance.
Kangas dips to his left and cracks Fron with an uppercut!
Tapani Kangas seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Fron tries to clinch up.
Kangas tries to counter by closing the distance.

Fron fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kangas to the ground. Fron is now in Kangas's guard.
Kangas being controlled here, momentarily.
Kangas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fron. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fron stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kangas swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fron sitting in guard here, content to control.
Fron slips nicely into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Fron maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Kangas could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Fron has cracked it and Kangas is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Fron!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:28 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Ton Fron!
