PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gino Gigante (ranked 4332 p4p, 4783 weight class) and Squids Testtree (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gigante tries to clinch but Testtree is having none of it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Gigante changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Testtree fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Gigante has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Testtree after a bit of a struggle.

Gigante fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Testtree, pushing him back against the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gigante wants the takedown. Testtree is fighting it off but Gigante persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Testtree's guard against the cage.

Testtree manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Gigante throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Testtree blocks it with crossed arms.

Gigante tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Testtree smiles and moves away.

Testtree lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Gigante seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Testtree working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gigante doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gigante manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Gigante drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Testtree manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gigante has Testtree in his guard.

Testtree lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Testtree has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gigante is proving hard to escape from.
Testtree stands up over Gigante, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
