Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ralph McGuire (ranked 192 p4p, 303 weight class) and Randy Randleman (ranked 29 p4p, 47 weight class). McGuire comes into the arena with Confederate Railroad - Daddy Never Was The Cadillac Kind blaring out of the sound system. Randleman has chosen Bloodhound Gang - Bad Touch as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 18 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ralph McGuire! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Randy Randleman! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Roberts and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGuire scores with a jab. Randleman acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Randleman showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from McGuire.
Randleman misses with a body punch
and McGuire counters with a solid body kick. McGuire moves in looking to clinch but Randleman pushes him off. Randleman is clearly trying to counter these attacks from McGuire with a body shot. Randleman scoring well with a low kick there.
McGuire closes the distance and pushes Randleman back into the cage. Randleman scores with a nice hook to the head. McGuire misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Randleman.
A left hand lands to the body for McGuire.
McGuire swings away with an uppercut that misses.
A short right from Randleman. Randleman stalling against the cage.
McGuire goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
McGuire is trying to break the clinch but Randleman is controlling him. Randleman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's one minute gone in the round. Randleman throws out a loose jab but McGuire uses good head movement to avoid it. McGuire connects with a jab. Randleman keeps the fight on the outside. McGuire throws out a token jab with nothing on it. McGuire throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. McGuire tries a head kick but it misses.
Randleman throws a big counter head kick but McGuire avoids it with no problem. Randleman on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Randleman moves away from the strike by McGuire. Nice uppercut lands for McGuire. That snapped Randleman's head back.
McGuire throws a leg kick but Randleman sees it coming and checks it nicely. A punch combination from McGuire misses. Randleman only half commits to the counter leg kick. Nice straight punches there by McGuire. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of McGuire.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McGuire lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Randleman slips a jab from McGuire. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! McGuire throws a sloppy head kick and Randleman counters with a thumping low kick. McGuire misses with a body shot.
A good leg kick by McGuire. Randleman swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A punch lands to the side of McGuire 's head but he takes it in his stride. Randleman avoids the body shot from McGuire.
Randleman circles away from the clinch attempt and Randleman counters with a stiff right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Randleman fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Randleman lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. The fighters circling - McGuire throws out the jab but it was never going to land. McGuire scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Randleman scores with a nice right hand.
Randleman looks for the body kick but McGuire saw that one coming. Ralph McGuire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McGuire closes the distance looking to clinch and Randleman counters with a lovely shot to the body. McGuire misses with a looping left. McGuire misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Randleman.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Randleman takes a swing at McGuire's ribcage but misses. McGuire swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. A decent looking body kick lands there for McGuire. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. McGuire walks into a jab. A looping hook to the body misses from Randleman. McGuire does a little dance to reset his feet. Randleman avoids the body shot from McGuire.
McGuire ducks under a wild hook from Randleman. McGuire fails in his attempt to clinch. Randleman swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. McGuire misses with a lunging right hand
and Randleman counters with a nice uppercut. McGuire misses with a hook. McGuire scores with a hook to the body. Randleman takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. A thudding body kick lands there by Randleman!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ralph McGuire will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. McGuire throws a chopping leg kick but Randleman manages to avoid taking any serious damage. McGuire throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Randleman! But no joy. A swing and a miss from McGuire. Randleman throws a wild combination but nothing lands. McGuire bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Randleman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McGuire.
Ralph McGuire is winning the standup battle so far. McGuire throws a left and a right that both miss
and Randleman counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Randleman throws a head kick that half lands.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McGuire tries a low kick but Randleman avoids it. Randleman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as McGuire throws out the jab. Randleman throws a series of punches but McGuire avoids them all with ease. Randleman ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McGuire moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGuire gets cracked there but stands up to it.
A head kick misses from McGuire. McGuire takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
McGuire lands a lovely overhand right. McGuire bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Randleman misses the jab. McGuire throws a poor cross that misses
and Randleman counters with a lovely straight right hand! Randleman connects with a body shot that sends McGuire's belly button to the back. McGuire tries to clinch up. Randleman turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McGuire tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Randleman was well out of range. Poor timing from McGuire. McGuire fails to land with a series of punches.
Randleman appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Randleman works the jab nicely. McGuire misses with a shot to the body enabling Randleman to counter with a crisp jab. McGuire swings and misses with a shot to the body and Randleman counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Randleman lands a big head kick that sends McGuire tumbling to the mat! Randleman takes a step backwards and waves McGuire back to his feet - he wants the finish!
McGuire is rocked! McGuire drops his hands momentarily. Randleman doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. McGuire staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. McGuire doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Randy Randleman! Randy Randleman is the new light heavyweight champion! Randy Randleman tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
