Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mickey Wong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Park Jong Gun!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gun tries to clinch up.
Wong appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Gun enables Wong to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gun manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Gun has momentary wrist control but Wong slips an elbow through the middle.
Wong looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Wong is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wong advances to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wong is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Gun actively working from the bottom here.
Gun is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Wong has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Wong working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Wong is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Wong perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Wong looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gun with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Gun is rocked!
Wong controlling the position here and throwing strikes from the top. Nice elbow lands there... and another... and another... oh, Gun is out! Wong gets to his feet and admires his work - nice finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Mickey Wong!
Mickey Wong decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
